First the diagnosis, then the treatment ...
A detailed diagnosis of the veins is necessary prior to sclerotherapy. If the deep venous system is intact, enhanced, smaller veins can usually be easily removed. Here, so-called "sclerosing agent" is injected into the veins that makes them stick inside. These are then degraded from the body within 2-3 weeks. Depending on the size of the surface veins, the doctor will even apply the micro-foam sclerotherapy, which is particularly suitable for very small veins.
Is the treatment painful?
Since only mini-cannulas are being used, the treatment is painless. Usually several sessions at intervals of 14 days are required.
