Mesotherapy

What is mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a proven method for treating hair loss, wrinkles and cellulite. It was developed in 1952 by the French physician Dr. Michel Pistor, and next to France it is being carried out in the U.S. and Canada with great success. Mesotherapy contains elements of acupuncture and neural therapy and combines them with knowledge of drug effects.

How does Mesotherapy work?

In mesotherapy homeopathic substances, vitamins and special ingredients (e.g., hyaluronic acid) are being infused into the middle layer of the skin (the mesoderm) via multiple micro-injections. This way, the ingredients can develop the desired effect on the spot: through the intensive nourishment with special substances, the tissue is supplied with these: this can for example improve hair growth and reduce hair loss. Even a damaged skin structure can be improved by means of mesotherapy.

How is mesotherapy being performed?

After disinfecting the area to be treated, a specifically adapted drug mixture is infused into the skin by means of multiple micro-injections. By using a special injection gun the stitches are almost painless- even on sensitive body parts.

How can mesotherapy be successful despite the low amounts of active ingredients used in it?

Although the amount of medication is very low, it is highly effective thanks to the combination of different substances on the one hand and the concrete, localized type of application on the other hand. The ingredients depot that results out of the concrete and localized injections ensures a fast and continuing therapeutic effect; the treatment intervals are respectively long and primarily address the patients needs.

How many treatments are necessary?

The number of treatments varies depending on the desired indication. For the treatment of hair loss (alopecia) we recommend a treatment cycle of 6 treatments (initial treatment). For the maintenance of the result follow-up treatments are generally necessary.
